Robin Best - 8th Grade Counselor
Hello Marauders!
It is truly an honor to serve as the 8th grade counselor at McMillan Junior High! My journey in Wylie ISD began in 2016 as an 8th grade Social Studies teacher right here at McMillan. I thoroughly enjoyed teaching U.S. History and helping students discover the rich history of our nation—especially the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights.
At the end of the 2023-2024 school year, I was presented with the opportunity to teach 7th grade Reading, a role I was thrilled to embrace. As someone with a deep passion for reading, it was an incredibly rewarding experience to serve as a 7th grade Reading teacher during the 2024-2025 school year.
Although I’ve loved every moment in the classroom, my long-term goal has always been to support students, parents, staff, and the entire Wylie ISD community as a school counselor. In pursuit of that goal, I earned my Master’s in School Counseling from Amberton University in May 2021. In March 2025, I was excited to be offered a counseling role with McMillan Junior High —a place I consider my second home.
I feel incredibly blessed and privileged to serve in this capacity, and I look forward to continuing to be an asset to both Wylie and McMillan for years to come.
Outside of school, I love spending time with my husband, Bryan, my family, and friends. I’m also a bit of a homebody and enjoy unwinding with a good book. When I’m not at home, you can find me in nature—I’m drawn to the mountains, woods, and any peaceful outdoor setting. Whether it’s fishing, camping, hiking, or simply relaxing by a campfire or a quiet stream, these are the moments that truly nourish my soul.
